Ephesians 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Did you ever just take a moment and seriously and sincerely stop and consider the indescribable magnificence of our God? Every time I even attempt to describe His wisdom and His wonder, I feel as if I’ve not even begun to scratch the surface of our glorious Father in heaven! The older I get and the more I learn from God’s Word and the more I see the Lord work in my own life and in the lives of others around me, the more I want to learn and see!
Yet, despite all this I still find myself sometimes struggling through storms, thrashing through trials and temptations. I even find myself fighting off thoughts of doubt, defeat and despair.
Slowly, ever so slowly, I am learning, as He is patiently teaching me more and more, about just how wonderfully magnificent He is!
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
The Lord wants us all to know:
When we think that He doesn’t, He surely DOES!
It is when you find ourselves in the very depths of the valley of despair, the devil sends his demons to tell you that the Lord neither knows nor cares about your situation and how you feel. But He does, He surely does! I’m sure they whispered to Hannah that God did not care how badly her heart ached for a son and they surely told Job, as he struggled to understand why all this had happened to him, that he was forsaken and forgotten. What lies are they telling you?
We’ve read the stories and know that the Lord was watching over them in tender love each and every minute, waiting for that perfect moment when He would, once again reveal Himself and remind them of His ever-faithful grace and mercy.
Hebrews 2:17-18 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
When we think that He won’t, He surely WILL!
Yes, many times it is at the very time when we think that God is not going to conquer this difficulty for us, He is not going to cure this disease, He is not going to comfort us in this distress. It is then that He does.
James had already been martyred. Peter lay bound in prison with only hours before his scheduled execution. Perhaps he had resigned himself to death, but God had other plans! Don’t give up on the Lord, He is going to finish the work He started!
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Lastly, when we think He can’t, He surely CAN!
Our God is surely “able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we can ask or think,…” There is no situation, nor circumstance; no trial nor temptation from which our God cannot bring you out wondrously victorious in Christ!
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
